Is there an input for an iPod/xm radio on the back of the stereo? On the front there is an AUX button but idk where to plug in. If so how do you remove stock radio? 2005 king ranch 350 is the truck. Thanks
For removal you will pull on the dash face from the drivers side to the passenger side airbag. Just pull lightly and it will pop free. You will need to drop the steering wheel down low and may need to shift the trans to 1st. Disconnect all the switches across the dash as well. Go slow and it's easy after the first time. The stereo is held in with 4 mount screws.
Once you get the stock stereo out, you will see an unused multi pin socket on the back of it. This is where you can plug in an adapter so that you can use the "AUX" button.
Does that allow you too use a 1/8th " headphone jack to plug in an iPod/xm?
This interface lets you input audio from any portable source like Mp3, DVD player, iPod/iPhone, satellite radio, or just about any external audio device by converting the Ford rear DVD plug on the factory radio into an auxiliary audio input.
The PIE box has a pair of RCA red/white inputs on it. I used a male 1/8" balanced to RCA adapter cable to go directly from the pie to an mp3 player, but if you can find a female end you could probably mount it somewhere on the dash and run a regular male-to-male patch cable between the iPod and dash. I made the cable come out of the panty hook and just left it coiled there instead of trying to mess with putting something into the dash cover.
If you have small hands (or have access to a mechanically inclined child with long arms), you can drop the glovebox and the smaller cubby and plug the pie in without pulling the dash cover and radio. It takes some feeling around, but there's only one way it fits in. There's a blunt cut wire in the OBDII connector bundle under the dash that I remember only being hot with the key on you can use to power to Pie.
I like the idea of the RCA cables with the female end. And he KR radio with the AUX button will have plugs for them? If it does it will b nice to just plug in my iPod/xm like I did in my other truck and push the AUX button.

I don't have tiny hands and I was able to do it this way with only a few minor scratches. I will post a pic later of my aux input.
So if I'm reading this right I needtbe PIE multi pin adapter and the RCA cables. Sounds like an easy thing to install. Is it all plug and play on the back of the radio or not?
Yes it is plug and play, though you will need to tap into power. I used a white with blue stripe wire near the driver glove box. It is key on only, but has worked great so far. One day I may change it so it'll work with truck in aux also.
