Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but my 2011 threw this code over the weekend. I thought I would post the results of the service.
Code = P21B0 - Reductant Level Sensor C Circuit High
Ford Service Notes:
- Reductant Heater and Sender Assembly - Replace (5J225)
- Reductant Tank Assembly - Remove and Install
Total out the door for me was $475, but original quote was for $900+. I have a good relationship with the dealer and they told me that they got Ford to chip in and help with some of the costs to replace, something about using warranty pricing instead of retail, or something like that.
Your mileage may vary, but I thought I'd share the info for the next person that searches for P210B.
Ryan thanks for posting....my '11 just popped this up this morning. Dealer quoted me $744.
Question to the crowd: Is this something that is a requirement to fix, ie. will this sensor cause the truck to go into limp mode one day?
I'm leaning towards fixing as of now, told service department to go ahead and order, service scheduled for Monday AM, but always hate dropping more $$$ into it other than for diesel.
Mine threw P21AB, went to dealer said emission warranty expired and the cost would be $900.00. Service Mgr. indicated that truck could go into limp mode if not replaced/fixed.

Hi tomkin,
Are you going to proceed with the repair at your dealership? What's your truck's model year and mileage? I'd like to check out some ways to assist.
Hi Crystal, I'm not sure at this time. 2011 F250, 6.7, with 88K on the clock.
Tomkin
Thanks for responding, Tomkin. If you decide to go the dealer route, let me know; I'll notify your regional customer service manager. To get the ball rolling, PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership.
I plan to drop the tank and install the heater. I had the tank off last week to replace the pressure / heated line. It is a bit of a bear when you are laying on your back on a gravel driveway... But it is doable..lol
Keep your work area clean, and watch this actual Ford video first:
I have the same code. Called my local Ford dealer who quoted $765 plus tax, or for me about $815 total. Debating a complete delete package at this point. 2011 truck with 27,000 miles has been nothing but trouble.
Hello all, earlier this week the CEL came on. i got the code PB 21 BO when I took the truck to the local Oreillys to check.
The truck is 2012 F250 with 86,000 on it and it went into service on 10/3/12 so I have a little bit left on power train warranty.
Reading thru this thread it sounds like it will need replacing. Also I couldn't see what the DeF level was on the message center until I added some more. Then it came back I'm kinda hoping it will just make the CEL go away.
If not will this repair be covered under any warranty?
Thanks in advance
Steve
