Do I need a spare tire?
I recently purchased a '95 Ford F-350 XLT Dually Pickup.
This is my first Dually so I am wondering:
Are the rims interchangeable? Meaning, if I get a flat on one of the front tires can I take one of the outer rear dually tire/rim and temporarily run it to the next gas station? Wouldn't the valve stem be on the INSIDE then? Does it matter? Do I worry too much? LOL!!!
I've searched here and on the web for answers and have not had any luck so far.
Help!?!?
Thanks
Jim
As far as valve stems go you are worring to much. The wheels are interchangable. Just if you need to get a new tire don't mix radials with bias or vise versa.
Rotating tires can be a real hassle, but, worth it if you buy a set of nice tires ($1100). If you do it yourself, rotating the tires with a good spare goes a lot easier and quicker.
FWIW: All the rims are the same and all the the valve stems are all on the same side because you are turning the wheel backwards when putting it on the rear.
