Does anyone have any information about a Superchips Microtuner 1705 that offers three power settings?
Does anyone know if there will ever be a Predator application for 94-97 Powerstrokes?
I do not want to start the age old brand vs. brand debate, but I am interested in a product to safely get more power when towing. Other than a K&N, down pipe and missing cat (gauges too), I am otherwise stock and tow a 7,500 lbs. travel trailer.
Thanks for any input, I find the site very helpful!
Unless they are referring to stock, 60HP, and 80HP as being three settings, I haven't heard of a SCMT with 3 settings in addition to the stock program.
Apparently pre-99's aren't a large enough market for them to be in any hurry to develop the Predator for. I have the SCMT and may look at the Predator if they decide to release one for the pre-99's.
I'm happy with the SCMT, if you have gauges and a downpipe you have what you need to run it. I run in the 60hp mode and picked up 3-4 miles per gallon !
The SCMT is only available with 2 tunes. Hypertech has a 3 program tuner but its highest setting is 50hp so the two lower settings are useless. Diablo will eventually get a pre-1999 tuner out after the 6.0L PSD and gas V8 tuners are out.
Are 70/90/100 the actual settings? And if so, what's the point? 70/100 I can see, but why would you need two settings 10hp apart, it's not like you would be able to feel a 10hp increase. Also, why would they change the settings that they've built the company on? Seems like there would be alot less work involved if they just went 60/80/100.
They figured out how to program higher horse power with lower EGTs.
Basically, they can give you 70HP with the same temps as the 60HP, 90HP with the same temps as 80HP. They have a tradition of not going too extreme so that's probably why they didn't go over 100HP.
Brian, How much trouble is it to install the sonnax shift valve and the tricummulator springs, I've got a trans-command on it now, and can I run both?? Thanks for any info.
