New Garage/Shop

Ok, since I broached the subject in the bullnose forum, I guess I need to post something. I married a woman from Virginia's Eastern Shore (met her on Singlesnet) she is a native, family roots go back to colonial times. She had a house, but no garage and limited storage. Since I have lots of toys and projects, this wasn't going to work.

I decided to buy a Steelmaster building, their US office is in Virginia Beach and they came highly recommended. I settled on a model called an XA-40-18. This is 40' wide and 18' tall, length is incremental, I went with 40' long.

The corner of the lot I wanted to use needed clearing first, then prepared and a footer and floor poured.

Since I do not have PS4 installed on my laptop I will have to find a way to resize these first as they are all around 2.5 MB in size. Once I get this done I will post them.

i don't know what ps4 is, but for resizing pictures, just use photobucket. it automatically sizes pictures for posting here.

... Probably an old version of PhotoShop 4.0

CS (or whatever Adobe calls it now) is all in the cloud.

I just hot link the BBcode from my Flickr or Google+ even though I'm a supporter and have the ability to insert them directly into posts.

He's thinking CS, it's not all cloud, I have CS6 and do not use the cloud functions. There is an open source program called G.I.M.P. that is comparable for most things. That should work.

GIMP is an awesome little free program. Download The Gimp 2.8.6 - FileHippo.com

I did find a resizer I could use. Here are a few pictures. The first ones are the lot clearing, including the nice Japanese gentleman, Honorable Kubota who helped with some stump removal. There was an interesting find for you older folks, a clamp on trailer hitch. This was from when cars had nice chrome plated steel bumpers. There some shots of the building delivery also. It is a Steelmaster XA-40-18 and is 40 X 40 X 18 high.

I was going to see if I could borrow a wrecker from Pete's to unload here in Exmore. Donnie asked if it could just be delivered to him and he would bring it over for me.

Buckets of bolts?

Matt, I was thinking of Adobe CC (Creative Cloud) which I understand is the latest iteration.

The Sunday after the building was dropped off at Pete's, Donnie and Pete brought it over using one of his rollbacks. We had to do a bit of creative sliding to get it off and on the ground.

Before they delivered it, I had the contractor for the footers and floor come mark the work area so we wouldn't end up with part of it blocked.

Yes, those are the proverbial buckets of bolts, total of 6000 5/16-18 with nuts, the larger box contains the 3/8-16 bolts for the bottom of the panels and the big square washers for the 5/8-11 anchor bolts.

I wonder how us in the building trades lived without cordless impact drivers.
