New Garage/Shop

Got some more of the wall done today, finished the left end up to the door upright including the ceiling/storage floor front joist. All it needs is sheathing and siding. After that I started on the right end, the center area is going to be a bit of a problem. My 20' extension ladder won't reach far enough, even sitting in Darth's bed (that's why the camper shell was off, I was being a proper redneck) and the scaffolding requires the walkboard all most or all the way up, and the safety team member in me says not no, but hell no.

Well, first it was built as 900 Metric tons, we upgraded it to 1050 Metric tons. It was featured on an episode of Mega Machines we frequently did "superlifts" of over 800 tons, like the entire bow or island for a Nimitz class carrier. That's so cool!
The 1,900 ton barge crane, used to replace the Bay Bridge, arrived in NY back in January,
I hope to get close while it's working on the Tappan Zee bridge here on the Hudson.
The adjacent replacement bridge is going up in sections and there is a pedestrian walkway on the current bridge, soooo

Very neat! I don't remember if we ever crossed the Tappan Zee bridge, have been over the George Washington bridge and through both the Holland and Lincoln tunnels years ago on our way to dad's parents in Amherst, NH. Once dad took the Pulaski Skyway. The early trips were in the late 40s early 50s, later ones in the early 60s, all involved starting and ending on the Kiptopeke Ferry to get to US13 on the Eastern Shore, on the last trip back in 1963, dad and I watched the construction on the Chesapeake Bay bridge tunnel (one of the man made wonders) which is now 50 years old. http://www.cbbt.com/

I am too young to know what it was like before the Interstate Highway System was substantially completed.
I-287 and the Tappan Zee is basically a ring around all the heavy NYC bottleneck.
Pulaski Skyway is being replaced at this time too.
I used to have a GF in Jersey City. Traffic must be a nightmare.
The Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel certainly is a unique answer for keeping maritime access to the bay during and after construction
Anyway, your shop is making good progress!
Thanks for sharing the pic's and details.

As Bill knows, Janey and I took the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel about 10 days ago when we left upper/faster Delaware for the Blue Ridge Parkway. (Unfortunately we didn't have time to stop - this time. But will one of these days.) And the bridge/tunnel is interesting as well as a huge help getting around Baltimore and WDC - both of which I've driven in 100's of times but neither of which I enjoy.
As for the shop, it should start coming together quickly now.

Since I am waiting for another section of scaffolding (to get the top up to 15') I decided to do another item that will be needed, set up a 250V power source so I can bring my air compressor over and start laying out my light wiring and once they are installed the door operator wiring.
I got a 50 amp RV outlet which uses 250V to get the capacity, 50 amps on each leg of the 250V circuit, since my garage in NN only has 60 amps going to it, I will be fine until I can connect permanent power.
Now if my Pennsylvania brother-in-law comes down in his big motorhome, he can have 50 amp service.
