Armstrong Tools

I was looking at a old post on craftsman tools. Well a armstong tool rep. came to work a few months ago. The Grainger salesman brought him. He told me that armstong makes all the craftsman sockets and ratchets to Sears specs. I told him what i thought of the craftsman ratchets not enough teeth when stuck trying to get that bolt that you can only get a click if your lucky. slammed my hands many a time when the slip also.
Bought a coupe of armstong ratchets from him put them to the test good price and they are great tools MADE IN USA

I think just about everybody has made tools for Sears to "Sears specs" at one time or another. Sears specs are pretty low...

The only problem I have ever had with Armstrong was with their teardrop shaped head ratchets. Everyone that I've ever had, the selector lever falls off. Other than that you can beat the hell out of them and they will still work.
Please do take the time to look at the other threads concerning Armstrong & Craftsman tools. There is a lot of good info.

I used to be a mechanic and I always bought Snap-on tools. Yes they are expensive and the warranty on them is matched by Matco, Craftsman, etc. etc.

But Snap-on tools (with a few exceptions) can do things that the other brands cannot. FIT. The ratchet heads are much smaller, with finer teeth in the gears, the wrench heads are smaller, and the socket walls are thinner, there are places that Snap-on will fit and no other brand will..

I don't turn wrenches for a living anymore and because of that, I usually wouldn't spend the extra money for Snap-on. I will usually just get crafstman, they are a LOT cheaper. But my sockets/wrenches, and ratchets will always be snap-on, simply for the fit-factor.
