A couple of weeks ago one evening while I was walking my dog, a vehicle was driving towards me it had really really bright lights. He didn't dim them and it really about blinded me, my night vision was really shot Well then this guy slows down and turns around and drives toward me, I thought OH NO Whats going on now. He stops right next to me and asks How Do You Like My Lights It turns out he was a local I knew him and he lives nearby. He said he just got them and was really impressed with them, and said they hopefully will let him see the deer sooner. I took a closer look and saw they were led lights he had them mounted in front center of the grill on his 2012 PSD. I said well I might be interested in getting some, how much did they cost? His reply was about $600 well I guess I wont be getting them very soon They were similar to the ones in the picture.
Yeah leds are expensive. And those light bars are bright, but i dont know how you would mount it on our trucks that would look good. Maybe if you get shorter ones and put them in the bumper.
The light bars for the broncos and f150s in our body style will work fine. I had 8 100 watt offroad lights on my f150... Don't know if I'll put any on my 250 or not. Really simple to wire up.
A few of our buddies have them and love them. We drive on a lot of back roods and rural roads and at night its a night and day (literally) difference in your vision.
I've been considering lights like this for a while. the price and other priorities have kept me from pulling the trigger, but i'd love to have 'bright as day' lights that point away from my truck in all directions. i'd never use them while moving (except maybe on those really dark back roads that no one ever drives anyway).
i'd like to have them just for the ability to light up the woods and the backyard at night when I need to get some work done outside and away from the house in the winter time when it gets dark at like 430 in the afternoon (well before I get home from work).
and I like the LED approach as maybe I won't need to upgrade the alternator what with all the lights I plan on mounting :-)
if anyone on here has a crazy amount of lights on their truck, i'd love to see some pics!
