Yea, I pulled out the pickup/sending unit and I'm like... "Wait, there's no fuel pump... What the hell is going on"... Then I thought about it for a second... Diesels don't have intank pumps...
You boys can clearly see why I work on airplanes and not cars/trucks.
Kinda sucks, the filter screen on the pickup tube crumbled into about 5 pieces when i took it out, but I found another one on Amazon for $30... So that fixes that.
And FYI, the inside of the factory tanks are galvanized steel. I know there's a huge debate over that, but the factory ford one I pulled out (stamped Ford Motor Company) was galvanized just like a gasser tank.
