Ok i guess i should have read over some more stuff before I put the deposit down. But no big deal. I'll get the tool and tell the guy i want to drive it for the half hour. So far, i took 2 test drives but they werent too far at all.
Both times the truck had less than 30 mi til empty, and the second time it had 8 miles to empty. Probably drove it hard combined 2 miles at most.
The plus is I got to the truck first both days and it cold started without any issue, hesitation or smoke. Romped on it a bit and no smoke. I thought the trans was a tad rough, but the deisel mechanic i brought with me said its normal and that i was just used to my 09 Silverado that i got rid of.
I appreciate the input.. i'm going to go back and go over a few more things that you guys turned me on to, as well as some stuff i read when i read thru the 6.0 forum.
Silly me i just assumed after I educated myself on the new diesels that this would be similar. But man was i mistaken lol...

guess that depends on what you mean by "rough"
the trans is very "firm"...yes, but ive never described it as rough?
if you dont wanna pop for the scangauge, you can get the torque app for 5 bucks thru the android store, and buy a bluetooth wireless adapter off amazon for 10-20 bucks.
well worth the investment for troubleshooting and monitoring (as is the scangauge, just more expensive)
