Arrow what a weekend

heh.. this past weekend when i came home from school on friday i pulled in and my dad said something about his truck not charging.... (99 F-250 psd)so we took it for a ride.. and the battery light would flash and the voltage gauge would slowly drop...so we parked it..and i busted out the multimeter.. and read the batteries... 8.14 volts.. and dropping.. and soon after this point nothing worked in the truck except the motor so we shut it off and called some people and they said the alternator... so we orderd one and 2 new batteries just in case... and it would be ready for saturday morning... so now my dad took my moms car to work and my truck was the only transportation... so i went to start it up to head out to get the stuff for his truck.... and it just cranked and cranked and cranked... no fire. after a half hour and alot of swearing... i called a few friends... and they said that the fuel filter was junk.. so i went to take a look and the front of my fuel filter just busted right off.... so now i need a filter and the tool... so 2 hours later... and i need to get his stuff so i can go to work... and so i got the parts from a ride of a friend of mine... and i put them in his truck and got it running and took his truck to work and sure.. his works but mine dont so i came home from work and tried it and still i got no where with this tool until the next morning when a friend just came over and pulled the peice out...apparently i released the spring clip i just gave up cuz i thought i didnt... lol so 24 hours later i got the truck running agian like a champ... and i still love it... actually runs better too

yeah those fuel line tools are the greatest. i bought 2 and broke both of them... still didnt get it apart. ended up just pulling the clips out with a small screw driver and needle nose pliers. oh well $20 later the truck runs good

The long style Ford fuel filter is a PITA. When you get the tool in the line try pushing some needle nose pliers up between the filter case and tool while pushing the line towards the filter. That will usually pop them right off. Then you just have to worry about getting the stupid thing out of the little bracket which is a PITA all its own.

what a weekend

i know what you mean...

took me about a month and many runs to Fair Auto to get my damn thing off. They sold me the wrong tool, wouldn't replace it, so i said ah screw it.

Ended up borrowing a universal kit from my Auto teacher... took it off in 10 min, popped the new one in, and my truck idled straight agian!
