We'll after replacing u joint at rear off transfer case my vibration happens at any speed at half throttle. Since all u joints on rear driveshaft are replaced what are the chances my rear driveshaft is bent?
Mine was... and it was out of balance as well. The carrier bearing can cause this as well. I just took the whole shaft assembly to a driveline service and had them do their magic... but I spend more money on my truck than most others do.
I just had the shop replace my carrier bearing. Took my truck over to a reputable transmission shop here and was assured my problem isn't transmission related. However I haven't checked into my transfer case. I used 4wd while back and it worked flawless.

If you picked up a vibration after replacing u-joints then I would guess your problem lies with the joints themselves.
It's your carrier bearing. Mine did the same thing after new u joints. Installed a later model Neapco carrier bearing and she was as smooth as glass. If you have a lift, make sure it is spaced down 1/4" for every 1" of lift.
Shake-n-bake I had the vibration before I replaced u joints. Tkeg I just replaced the carrier bearing
Oh, ok....you had the vibration before and after. I didn't get that from your original post. Sorry I jumped in without comprehending the situation more clearly.

For some reason the carrier bearings are sensitive. I had a brand new factory carrier bearing replaced along with my new u joints. It was actually worse than before when I put it back in. I took it right back out and had them put a Neapco carrier bearing in and it was all better.
My 2000 F350, 77,777 miles, has a different sort of issue. When I brake from any speed the rear end vibrates horribly until I switch off the OD, then the beast stops as smooth as silk. Any one ever heard of this? Thanks, CamperJohn
I hope this doesn't qualify as a hijack...I just reregistered.....
