Well boys, I'm in the market to get myself a 6.0 Excursion. I've long looked on in jealously, drooled over one for the longest, and the time has come to make a move.
I feel that the best and most trusted source for such a task are the people who know and love the 6.0 as much as I do, fellow FTErs
I have a few specifics I'm looking for, but if you guys don't mind, please keep an eye out for a following:
-2005 Excursion with a 2005 engine, preferably with Studs and EGR delete
-Monochome Black (All black) Limited
-4wd
-Second row bench
-Stock height, not lifted.
-Reasonable amount of miles in the 150K or less range
-Stock rims and tires
-Southern, rust free truck
-Maintained with reciepts if possible
I've been all over Autotrader, Cars.com, Ebay, and Craigslist, but should you see something locally or while you happen to be browsing one of these sites, please let me know as I'm willing to travel for the right truck
I myself will continue to look, but feel free to either reply to this thread or shoot me a PM if you see something.
Thank y'all and I look forward to joining the 6.0 brotherhood!
There is always a bunch on cars.com here in central florida. Usually $24k+. There are a couple with under 70k miles. I didn't like my experience at Gibson truck world, bought mine across the street at Nations, fwiw. They have/had the best selection here.
I'd love an excuse to go check em out if they fit
within your requirements..
I sort of felt lucky to get a late '04 engine in my '05 ex.
No stc fitting to worry about.
Rusty, it's a nice truck and has a good price for the miles, but it's 2 wheel drive.
LivingLarge, I'm very excited to get to this point too. I've been waiting a VERY long time for this. Believe you me, I'll make sure that axle code is there AND it has 4wd. No more open diff for me, lol!
Misky, after reading your post, I did some reading on the late '04 engine and it looks like a late '04 engine isn't too bad to have. They made some serious improvements to it that lead to a great combination of fuel economy and power overall. I've been keeping my eye on you and LivingLarge, as well as, your mpg numbers and overall experience with the 6.0; needless to say, you guys are just two people who helped sway me to the 6.0 brotherhood.
Wish you the best of luck in your search, TD. Hopefully it doesn't take you too long to find what you're looking for, and you can get to work making it yours.
Here is the link to the 05 excursion I wanted to buy for my wife until my wife decided she didn't want it. He has already done a ton of mods and upgrades to it, really nice truck. A lot of the upgrades aren't even listed on the ad. 2005 Excursion. Eddie Bauer 6.0 diesel 4x4. PRICE REDUCED!

Looks like this person knows a lot about the upgrades. Too bad this person doesn't know about using the correct oil filters! LOL

Here is one I found on KSL classifieds, Ford Excursion | ksl.com Not sure on the studs and stuff, but it is blacked out and limited with 109k on it. If you want I could drive down there Thursday and have a look see about the studs and what year the engine is.
