Smog pump seized up on '96 4.9, anybody have part # for sorter belt to delete it?
Hey guys, truck in question is a friends 96 f150 (2wd auto) with the good ole 300. The smog pump seized solid and slung the belt off in pieces, before I bothered trying to measure the belt run and play the guessing game I just figured I'd see if someone had a part # of hand for a shorter belt.
The truck is just a $500 beater, and we've got no emissions bs to pass in Iowa so instead of replacing the pump we'd just like to bypass it and call it a day. Thanks for any info you might have. Oh before I forgot the truck does have working ac, so keeping the ac compressor spinning is a must, found a part # for a shorter belt for a smog pump delete without ac, but nothing for a truck with ac. Thanks again.

Make sure to ignore the comments about putting extra strain on the alternator by having more belt contact the pulley. The air pump is also missing on my truck and I've routed the belt the same way as shown in the pictures in the link. If you would like better pictures, let me know. BTW, the water pump on our trucks isn't directional, so you needn't worry about it spinning the opposite direction.
