Have a 1972 ford f100, To start off i havent looked that much into this problem yet. Been busy with other parts on the truck.
Problem is my passenger brake light works, but not the running light and my driver side running light works but not my brake light. im not sure if its a fuse that blown out and to be honest im not 100% sure where the fuses would be.
In that case I would be willing to bet the lamp wiring at the left rear corner has been *******ized by your PO. That's where everybody likes to blend wiring for trailor lamps in. Check connections there.
Ditto on the wiring. Look on the rear drivers side frame rail(inside), you'll find the original 4 pin plug that is for the tail lights. Make sure someone hasn't gotten their fingers in there and screwed something up.
You can check for power at that connection using the tester John showed you.
Listing of the four wires:
LEFT turn signal(including brake light on that side)
RIGHT turn signal(including brake light on that side)
Running lights(both sides and license plate light)
Reverse lights
