I will be ordering a fuel pressure gauge in the next couple days and the FRx and Hutch mod will soon follow. As for tuning, I'm extremely happy with my experience with DP Tuning so far and would like to stick with them unless there are reasons I'm not aware of as to why I shouldn't stick with them. Again thanks for all the help everyone. I'm getting alot more (helpful) feedback and learning alot more than I thought I would. I can't wait till I figure out exactly what mods I'm going to do and get it all done.

Thanks

That doesn't sound good...

Anyways, that's an awesome truck man. Where do you get the Farmers injectors from? I can't find their website or anything, just links to forums talking about them.

I've been told there's some good wisdom in matching the tuner you go with, with the sticks you purchase. Each tuner has developed expertise more or less with a given brand of injector. I know when I start down that path, I'll be asking folks here on their experience with at least a couple of different sticks and tuners.

For me, my truck is more of a hobby, not critical for daily work, so I dont mind going slow and trying things, re-selling parts as I explore the capabilities of this engine. The Edge Juice was a lot of fun, but moving on to DP tunes and their transmission adjustments, and lower EGT power were quite an improvement. This is all with stock sticks. Once you decide to go to bigger injectors, I think tuning will be more critical, and so the advice to match up stick builders with tuners is a good thing.

Didnt even notice that you are in TX. He's located just outside of Athens. I know he is swamped right now, might even be taking a trip down there for a few months to work for him and help him catch up on his shop business.

Give Mike a call if you want and talk to him, heck, if youre close enough you may even be able to head up and talk to him in person. Guy is a wealth of information.

Appreciate the comments on the truck, its been a work in progress for the past couple of years. Its almost done. Just wish I had pulled the trigger on a tighter exhaust housing back in July so I could have dynoed with it. I thought it was tuning causing the delayed spool up, but after talking with some experts, the consensus is that the housing I am running is too big.

Do you have something to add to this thread?

Comments like yours is why so many good sources of information have left this site. The OP has voiced he is happy with the product we have provided him so I don't really see the point of your post. Go on, he wants to know any opposing facts. Just keep in mind not two tuners tune the same way. So facts will then become opinion.

I realize you tune now privately and that is wonderful for you. I know what it has taken for you to learn how to tune so let me ask, would you like it if someone did that to you?

Been doing this for almost a decade and I wish I could tell you that we have been able to make every single customer happy. I would have to question a company who says they have. What I can tell you is we do our best to provide people with excellent products and service. We are one of the few companies around who still has product made for the 7.3l. Some people don't like the way Jody tunes and that is fine. Don't just put the carrot out there without explaining what it is you are trying to accomplish.

Pigman- I am glad to hear you are happy with your purchase. If you ever need anything just let us know.

Diane,

for the record, I had DP tunes, and I was completely please with them. My comment was simply directed at the fact that it seems that any time anyone, on any forum, asks about your tunes, it always turns into a drama fest -- hence my comment about getting the popcorn. Was not pointing fingers at anyone, nor was I making any comment relevant to your tuning, simply making an off hand remark about how asking that question tends to blow threads waaayyyyy off topic, but provide some good entertainment. If that is something that is inappropriate to you, feel free to contact a moderator and have my comment removed. If I had had something derogatory to say about your tuning believe me, I would have gone ahead and said it.

As far as how I would feel if someone was making comments like that about my tuning, I wouldnt care. I do not do this professionally, and in no way try to say that I know everything when it comes to tuning. In fact, I know that I barely know my head from my *** when it comes to writing tunes. Whenever I make comments regarding tuning, I make a point of specifying that point, and also saying what worked FOR ME. We know that these engines are all different, and that some tuning that runs perfectly on one engine, cannot on another. The fact that you jump all over a simple comment about being ready for a thread to spiral out of control really does not contribute anything to this site, nor this thread, so please dont lecture me about contributing to this site or people moving on.

Likewise, do you have anything to contribute to this thread other than griping about a comment made about your product, and telling a customer you are happy he is happy? Oh and seemingly going after a self tuner who hasnt actually ever said anything bad about your product?

Sorry for the derail, and to the OP, I am glad you are happy with your tuning!

Not coming after you as a tuner, just questioning the reason you posted the comment. If I was to go after you I would degrade your work. Not agreeing with your post is not putting you down as a tuner.

To be honest anytime the comment you posted is posted it is "known" to be starting trouble. You are on enough other forums to know better then to post a comment like that. Posts like that disrupts the dynamics of this forum. Doesn't matter who they are reflected on.

If you really wasn't expecting it to spiral you would have elaborated so not to leave the OP guessing.

Think before posting!

Oh and thanks to everyone in this thread who is happy with our product.

Another live tuning in Modesto is on the books for November 8-10.

I'll post it up a few blocks down when airfare is secured.

Most everyone here knows I've been a customer of DP-Tuner since 2006, when I bought Jody's newly released F5 chip for my Excursion. Those tunes have been on my Ex for 7 years now, for almost 100k miles.

I've also seen various tuning threads on various forums (including FTE) over the years turn very ugly.

That being said, I never took the comments by 2000ca250 as anything negative towards DP-Tuner. I took it the same way he stated above.

Let's please try and be different and leave the drama behind and out of this thread.

Thanks guys (and gal. Or lass is you prefer, Diane. )
