So i've had my eye on this 69 F250 for a while, i am just trying to decide whether i should sell my jeep and daily drive this. How much of a pain would it be, disregarding the mpg's? How many DD trucks like these? It is on 40's, and i plan on installing power steering.
Back in the 80's they were very popular and guys drove them all the time. If you can live without cruise/tilt/air conditioning/power windows/remote start then it is no problem.
I'd love to have nice bump to drive every day, but fuel would kill me. You can't go far with a 8-9 mpg truck.
$5k is pretty steep for that in my opinion. Good motor or not, if 1/2 the bed is missing and the rest looking marginal it is not worth that kind of money.
these trucks in general are ok depending on the person. I drove mine in high school and college but got hard when i needed to get to work and didnt have a back up like i did when i was living at home. i still drive my truck as much as i can when i can but it is really nice knowing each morning that my Focus will start.
that truck i wouldnt drive ever not even to test drive it. they are asking too much for it and the picture with the guy in it just gives me a bad feeling about how they treated the truck.
i took a second look at the pictures and picture one the truck has the fender and in the second it doesn't. my guess is the white truck has a green bed side on it or they did some real bad damage to it and cut it off to hide it.
Let's guess they got that thing stuck in some deep mud real deep. Beat the heii out of it trying to get it out. There-by wrecking the rear end. How in the heii else are you gonna hurt Dana 60 gears with that diameter tires? My guess is there is a lot more hurt than the gears. Driveshaft(s),T/C, front hubs, Tranny, etc. I wouldn't just forget it, I'd run from it.
First of all, please don't let that thing touch a treated road.
Run far, far away from anything that's been buried in Northeast mud. You can tell there's nothing left of the rockers, door bottoms, and cab corners...
