My 93 F150 with a 4.9 and A/C has been giving me fits with the alternator(s). My truck came factory with the 95a and it was dropping voltage when I would turn my A/C on and the belt would start to squeal. I replaced and upgraded to the 130A that did the same exact thing. I have been so frustrated with this voltage drop issue I purchased a 200a alternator and for one day my voltage read 14.7 with the A/C on and no drop. The other two alternators would drop to 12.8 volts with the A/C on. Now today I started the truck and what do you know the same 12.8 volts at the battery with the 200A alternator. What am I missing? I have replace the factory return wire from the alternator to the battery with a 4ga battery cable and that did not help. Anyone have experience with this type of problem? I have also replaced the battery thinking that the battery was bad (since my charger said it was) and that did not help. When I turn on the A/C and headlight the belt squeals like a pig. I have gone to a shorter belt and a new tensioner. I am at a loss.
a slight change in numbers, I just checked to voltage at the alternator and the battery, with the a/c on the back of the alternator read 13.94 volts and at the battery it reads 13.81 volts. I did not have the lights on or the a/c blower on high. Does anyone have any ideas? when the a/c is off I am getting 14.2 volts at the battery.
Is the squealing belt slipping on the a/c pulley or on the alternator pulley?
I also wonder if the a/c clutch is pulling to much current. Even a 55 amp alternator should pull the a/c clutch without problems. You might want to measure how much current the clutch is pulling. It might be time for a new clutch. Just a couple of thoughts....jack

it is squealing on the alternator pulley, and I was wondering about the current draw on the a/c, however I notice the biggest drop when I turn my blower to high
