I'm looking into suspension options and I'm trying to do as much research as I can. I've seen a few members with dream beams and cut springs with what looks like close to 0degrees of camber? I know you can bend factory forged beams for around +1.5degress, but how are people getting close to acceptable camber with non-bendable aftermarket beams and short springs? I've heard of an I-beam pivot hole mod that can help, but I haven't seen any pics or a detailed description of it yet. Any help is appreciated!!
Lowering beams simply change the relative position of the spindle mount and the I-beam's horizontal centerline. It's moved up three inches thus resulting in a three-inch drop. In theory, camber does not change. Caster doesn't either because the spindle mount is leaned back per the OEM specs.
Cutting the stock spring should bring spring rate up a bit also, which probably wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing on this boat, lol. I've looked into the cv swap also, but I'm not confident I can get the truck back in the road in a timely manner. Mostly concerned about fabbing motor mounts, steering column, and power steering pump brackets. But it's an option, definately the best performing option to boot, lol. The trucks I've seen with dream beams and 1.5-2 coils cut have the exact stance I'm looking for in the front. Can deal with a little negative camber, but I'd rather not deal with -3degrees more, lol.
after the install of the beams I had tons of positive camber. I mean tons. and I drove it around the yard thinking it needed to cycle the suspension.
so after that I started to cut coils. ended up being close to factory camber after cutting 2.5 coils off. and its about as low as I want for now. but I have a cv clip and rear axle if I decide to go lower or I can sell it and get a few bucks . so if you decide to do a cv and your near ohio hit me up
