Dropping the front of my 65

I have a question, okay maybe two:
1.. I want to drop the front end of my truck about 2 in. I bought some drop springs (2in), but I don't think they are going to work in the stock set up. When the truck is jacked up, they will fall out. Do I need to change out the Twin I Beans as well with the drop beams?
2. If so, how involved is swapping out the old I beams with the drop beams?

I am leaning to just replacing the I beams and all, I am afraid just the springs themselves will not work. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Others may have more information, but it is my understanding using lowering springs will not work, because it throws the camber way off
the process of aligning these old trucks is to bend he I beams, but not sure if can on a 2 inch drop.
swapping out I beams is a fairly easy process, but depending on what you have and plan to do it is a process
there are a few manufacturers of the beams, but go to DJM website and they have a couple of videos on what you need to do

I agree with Bert65 that the lowering springs alone will not allow one to properly align the vehicle b/c castor and camber is set by bending the I-beams. However, even with lowering springs the springs should not drop out when the vehicle is jacked up. The front coil spring is retained by a clamp to the top of the coil spring tower and by a thick washer to the I-beam. So you are missing retainers and/or the spring is incorrectly engineered.

Thanks for getting back to me. I think I am going to hold off and do a little more research. I am leaning to just leaving it alone for now. Maybe in the future going with the DJM Dream Beams. I really like the ride is has for an old truck. Thanks again.
