Hello all,
We just purchased a 91 RV with a Ford 460 FI engine with 38,000 miles. The truck makes an unbelievably load noise that sounds like it's coming from air flow. it only does it under load. I've heard the vehicle has a air management system and filters can get clogged. Just took it to a Ford dealer, but looking for some help.
If you are talking about the A.I.R. pump and its system it has nothing to do with air going into the engine.
The only things that manages air into the engine is you foot or the IAC valve for fast cold idle and to keep the engine from dieing if you let off the throttle real fast.
Sounds more like no air filter or an air induction hose is off. Could also be lack of insulation under the dog house.
