hard to start

I have a 1986 f150 5.o, it starts great the first time, but if i shut it off it won't start again for a couple of hours, and it acts like the battery is lacking power, but its a new 1000cranking amp, but i can put the battery charger on it at 80 amp and it will take a little but it will start

Connections, connections , connections.
It's possible the bushings are worn in the starter.
Check all connections first.

X2 on checking connections.clean or possibly replace cables.if then nothing prob the starter is the problem.is it carb or injected?
