I was towing my heaviest load yesterday.not sure how much had a 12ft.dump trailer loaded level full and a big scoop of coal in bed.backing in my driveway to my basement window my tranny temp shot to 210 for a short time.after I parked I noticed a few drips of tranny fluid under the truck.not much its still full.i read up on other posts and not real answers.how hard is this on front seal?should I just keep an eye on it?i have to haul a few more loads like this yet this fall for family.if I need to tear seal out what other things should I have done to it at 116000 miles?just changed fluid about 1000 miles ago with synthetic and it looks great yet.fluid temp only got to 185 towing all the way home about and hour or so up some steep grades.sorry for long post and thanks for any help
210°F is a normal temperature when loaded. I'm going to guess you were WAY overloaded, but since I don't know what your truck is I could be off base.
With that much load backing up a driveway is going to cause it to leak a bit. A new seal and bushing will probably stop that slight leak if you use an aftermarket seal made from Viton. It's better than the factory seal.
Another thing that will help A LOT is to replace your air to oil seal with a 6.0L cooler.
I have o 2001 f-350 srw.i have read a lot about the 6.0 cooler.i want to do that.should I just keep an eye on it and see if it stopped when I drive it?
