Just Bought 1966 F100 Styleside
F10YK886407
So it's a F100 of course with a 352, built in Kansas City. Don't know about the date. BM color code and I can still see the paint job under the current paint so no mystery there. (It's the turquoise with the wimbledon white roof/cab.) 65 DSO, I'm assuming somewhere in the midwest or Rocky mountain area.
What I still need is any favorite/best books for overall info. It seems that Dennis Carpenter is a favorite around here for most parts. I'm going to rebuild the carburetor but I can't find any place but autozone that has one on hand. (I'm in Phoenix, west valley.)
The carb is an autolite 2100 (C6TF C on the tag) Won't stay running without the choke engaged. The gas isn't old and it's possible the carb is just gunked up but I think it's a vacuum problem. I was squirting around with some carb cleaner and the stuff shot right out from the edges. Whatever gasket is present is toast apparently.

"OOOOk-lahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain. And the wavin' wheat can sure smell sweet when the wind comes right behind the rain."
I'm going to rebuild the carburetor but I can't find any place but autozone that has a kit on hand.

DSO 65: Oklahoma City OK Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
I drove it to the barber shop this morning because my little girl wanted a ride and I'm wanting to drive it of course, but the choke has to stayed partially out the whole time. You can hear some kind of vacuum leak but I haven't been able to pinpoint it yet so I'm curious if it's related to the carb leaning out so bad?

And I found this picture online and think that this is what the original paint scheme looked like? Poking around on mine, seems to confirm so. The hubcaps are the black highlighted whereas mine are red but I can't be certain of either being original I guess.

Wrong paint scheme, for one thing, trucks that were tu-toned didn't have the roof painted one color, the rest of the truck painted another...unless the buyer ordered the truck this way.
Poking around on mine, seems to confirm so. The (v) 'outie' C4AZ-1130-A Custom Cab/Ranger hubcaps are stainless steel, black highlighted.
Whereas mine, the incorrect Standard Cab hubcaps are painted argent with argent letters on a red background.

[/IMG]EDIT: Your trucks L/F wheel has a TYPE 2 "outie" Standard Cab painted argent hubcap with argent FORD letters on a red background.
F100 Western Nationals Truck Show held in June at Canyon RV Park (aka gopher hole acres), north of the 91 freeway in NE Anaheim. At this show, I gave Bill W* one of these same hubcaps, it's NOS.
"Outie" so called because the hubcap snaps over tabs located on the outside of the wheels center section.
"Innie" so called because the hubcap snaps over tabs located on the inside of the wheels center section.
1965/66 F100 2WD's could have either innie or outie wheels.
2WD Custom Cabs/Rangers came with stainless steel hubcaps, either TYPE 1 (innie-Red FORD letters) or TYPE 2 (outie-stainless FORD letters on a black background).
Same outie hubcaps standard equipment: 1964 Custom/Galaxie/Galaxie 500.
Standard Cabs came with the same two innie or outie caps, but TYPE 1 was painted argent or white with red Ford letters, TYPE 2 argent or white w/argent or white letters on a red background.
Warranty Plate pictured in post 5 - here's the info that was not previously decoded.

* Consider joining FTE's AZ Chapter. Bill W is the chapter leader, lives in Tucson. Dave (garbz2) is very well versed on these trucks, lives in Glendale.
btw: My sister lives at McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale. House is EZ to spot, whiz up the street, it's the only house with a shake roof, pine trees and a lawn.
All the rest have desert landscaping/tile roofs.
[/IMG]So original equipment on this truck would have been one of these - but not the argent letters on red background? Okay.
I've seen posts by Garbz but didn't know there was a state chapter or anything. I'm in Glendale as well so that's convenient. I'll be going to to 67th Ave and Bell tonight. There's a good sized get together there every Saturday.

Dunno what the temp is in Arid-Zona today, but it's sorta cool here in LA LA Land, home of the LA Dodgers! D-Backs p!ssed off, but you know what they say, doncha? Boys will be boys.
We live in Spokane, Wa now but I was born in Bellflower, CA so I do bleed Dodger Blue! GO LA!!!!

The guy had the gasket on backwards. When I first went to spray some carb cleaner in the bowl vent, the spray came out of the side so I assumed the gasket was old and wore out. Then when taking it apart this evening, I see that it looked kind of new, and then I saw that it was backwards.
More random carb pics.

looking forward to your input and post pic's if you can.
