Which is easier and faster when changing ratios? 94-5.0-4r70w-3.08 Want to change to 3.55 What years can be swapped? Ring & pinon or Comp axle. I'm going to use used parts from local boneyard. 3.08 won't pull the hat off grandpa's head. Gonna get me some gear! PM
'92-up has no speedo cable or gear. It uses the ABS sensor in the rear axle for the speedo, transmission control, cruise, and ABS (and thermometer on '95-6 EB Broncos).
'87-up has no third member - only the 8.8" axle in 1/2-tons, which is a NON-removable carrier differential. The 9" in '86 was the last with a "chunk".
Oops - you're right. '92 only has the gears and the VSS (but no cable) on the trans/t-case just for the old vacuum-type cruise system. '93-current has no speedo gears.
In any case, his '94 doesn't need speedo gears or recalibration, unless he changes tire size.
