HFCM drain upgrade
I started my 75,000 mile service today and decided to run down to Ford for my drain upgrade. I went to the bible here in the FTE forum and got the part number. Open up the old drain and it damn near fell apart. I decided to look at the diesel fuel that came out and it was pretty nasty,rust,water ,and some kind of gooey stuff. Cleaned it out with carb kleener and changed the filters. I defiantly am going to have do a fuel pressure ck on it tomorrow night because it will make me feel better and all that crap that came out can't be good for the fuel pump. Also I'm going to look into some pillar gauges because this will keep my worst fears at bay. I don't want to have to buy a set of injectors,I'll spend the $350.00 to save $2000.00 and maybe send out my FICM before it goes too (got down to 46.50 vts this morning) Whats that old saying ? a ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure........

I read that this should be done every oil change. Crack open the HFCM (Horizontal Fuel Conditioning Module) drain plug. If you pass on this maintenance and don't stay on it, this is what you end up with...
