I'm going to install a mechanical oil pressure guage one of these days and need to know what to get to install it. It's a ¼" pipe thread into the block, correct? It looks like I'll have to do some plumbing to get a tee in there; not as much room on the 302 as on the I6 . Also, is there a socket that will fit the oil pressure switch? That would make that part of the job much easier.
I also may sometime try the mod to make the stock guage a "real" guage. Has anyone done this?
I did the "Real gauge" mod on my '93. It was real easy. I just changed out the sender and jumpered out the resistor on the back of the cluster. The sender I used was a GP Sorensen OPS71 from Advance Auto Parts. It was about $6

Is yours a V8? I had the switch off once, but it was a real PITA to get to. Is the pipe size 1/4"?
