Smile buyng used 2011-2012 Ford 6.7 4X4

...had a 84 Isuzu 2.2 diesel 4X4 until last year. Now I'm looking for the 2011-2012 F250 SD, for towing. Probably a 20-30 ft. Airstream, is that an issue for the truck?
Thanks ahead of time for any response-redonly

Nope, no problem. However, the newer diesels including the fords are very picky on the quality of fuel.....unlike that 84 Isuzu where you could pretty much pour anything in the tank and it would burn. If you are a homebrewer of bio-diesel I wouldnt burn it in the newer trucks unless you cut it down to b-20 or less. these new fuel systems are much pickier, and much more expensive to repair. With that said however, given clean fuel, and no contaminates, they have been very solid too.

Oh, one more thing, if buying used, get a Ford OASIS report run on the VIN number to make sure there was nothing major going on with it. You can search here or google on how to get a oasis report.

Welcome to the site! The 6.7's are great trucks, and you won't encounter any issues pulling a trailer that size.

Those old Isuzu's were great little trucks too

This is a good point - however, I would also want to trust the source of the B20, while the fuel system is rated for it, if it has too much water content in it, it will create issues with your high pressure fuel pump.

If you are buying the truck from the dealer, ask for one - otherwise, see if you can get your dealer to pull one for you

You might want to try and find a new 2012 sitting on a lot, might be able to get just as good of a deal on it. I just traded a 2011 XLT that had 27,000 miles on it. I bought Sept 2010, so I had it 3 years. I got $33,500 on trade. A dealer would probably ask at least $37,000 for the truck, I only paid $43,500 after rebates when I bought it new.
