Ok for those who are cam savvy or have a 445 stroker in their rig, what is the biggest hydraulic roller cam ud go with if you still want to lets say haul on a dual axle flat bed your 59 f100?
My buddies at Schneider cams here in San Diego are making me my cam and im getting both directions on the size they want to do. I made it clear my highboy has to be able to tow on occasion otherwise it will be a daily driver and racing friends here and there at the strip. So the guys assured me it will haul *** and be able to still tow... So I left it at that.
So im not going to say what I believe the grind was going to be just yet. I want to see what you all say and will double check with them in the morning to make sure my numbers are right.
I don't think you're going to get many answers here. Just keep in mind that the bigger you go in displacement, the tamer a cam gets. What would be a "big cam" in a 390 will not be so "big" in an 445. And with a roller profile, the effective duration changes, you'll get more flow with the faster ramps overall. I would talk to the two guys over on the Ford FE forum on Network54,(BarryR and Brent) these two guys have more experience with what you're doing than anyone here.
