Who makes the best aftermarket headlights for 92-96 trucks?

Crystal/Diamond clear, or OEM,etc., has best beam pattern, no projector, using RJM relay harness and what is the highest wattage bulb that can be used without melting the housing and lens? Will be on road and off. Thanks guys, really need some help on this.

My 0.02 USD worth . . .

You know what, buy Ford OEM headlights and forget about the bling cr@p projector lamp junk out there.

Yeah, they are expensive but you will be disappointed by aftermarket lights that don't spread a good beam pattern.

Sylvania SilverStar Ultra bulbs and an RJM wiring harness.

My 0.02 USD worth. YMMV.

I'm with Ray on everything he said above except for one thing. If you don't want to pay OEM prices for new headlight assemblies, the ones that Certifit sell are a good alternative.

I'm in the same Boat also,I need new Lights as well. And I've been looking at all the different ones but don't know whats the Best, and I definitely don't want to end up buying something Aftermarket & wasting my $$..I usually always like to go with OEM,but the Ford Headlights are Way expensive. The cheapest I've found is around $118 Shipped, and that just seems a lot for a Headlight.Does anyone know of a cheaper Price for the OEM's??

$118 shipped is a good price for OEM Ford headlight assemblies.

Those ones that are "crash repair insurance certified" are not worth buying. I've seen those actually come apart, the front lens coming loose from the body.

You might check with some of our sponsors, such as AutoNation White Bear Lake Ford, formerly Tousley Ford. You might get a few $$$ off that price but I think you're good with that $118.

A quick look @ AutoNation White Bear shows the headlamp assembly complete @ $150.73 list, Online price of $99.48 a side. Not sure what the shipping would be.

Hope this helps.

Partsgeek.com has them for approx. $20.00/side + S&H.

I've bought 2 sets and have had nothing but AWESOME use from them (2 trucks).

They come in Keystone Styling boxes.

Listed at $27.75 each. These places most of the time have no clue what really fits our trucks so you have to know what you're looking at.

I would still be inclined to buy OEM. At least the quality is known.

I accidentally selected the wrong year, my apologies. Yes, I prefer OEM most of the time as well, but let's face it, plastic headlights are horrible all the way around. Certifit has been around for quite some time and most of their products fit just fine and are of decent quality (your mileage may vary). You can't beat the price, that's for sure. Yes, I know, you get what you pay for.

My issue with Certifit and the other low end replacement parts is a general lack of attention to details.

Many OEM headlights have a hard-coating over the lens to help it stay free of plastic oxidation. I know for a fact that Certifit lamp assemblies do not have that coating. My brother has a '99 Ranger. Left headlight assy is still good to go, looks like new. The right assy, three years old, is oxidizing and yellowing badly.

As a whole, if a part doesn't carry a CAPA (Certified Automotive Parts Association) seal, it doesn't really meet OEM standards. CAPA certified parts tend to cost almost as much as OEM, since they are built to OEM standards. Certifit parts are not CAPA certified for the most part, by the way.

In this case, the OEM lamp assemblies from AutoNation White Bear are actually cheaper than CAPA certified TYC lamp assemblies from O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Just some food for thought. As it was mentioned, you get what you pay for.

YMMV

From what I thought the PN For the 1992-1996 F-150 Headlights is F2TZ-13008-A & that's the Right Side. And F2TZ-13008-B is the PN for the Left Side Headlight.

You're right!

F2TZ-13008-A is the whole kit and kaboodle. It looks like it includes the lens/headlight assembly itself, plus the bulb, adjuster screws, and bulb retainer.

Whereas F2TZ-13007-A is just the lens/headlight assembly itself.

That's good info to have. Thank you, sir.
