Analog MLPS Question

Analog MLPS Question
I have a '94 E4OD trans in my '53 F100. It uses an analog MLPS for the gear selection indicator, Neutral Safety Switch, and Backup light.
My MLPS Neutral Safety Switch shows continuity in Neutral, but not in Park, I need to be able to energize the starter solenoid in both Park & Neutral.
Shouldn't the MLPS show continuity in both Park & Neutral?

There needs to be too much rotation for the switch to reach Park.
Do I have the wrong switch?
Maybe this trans should have a Digital MLPS.

No. You're just asking about the starter circuit. It's supposed to be closed in Park and Neutral and is a separate part from the position-reporting portion of the sensor/switch. The "Analog" vs. 'Digital" MLPS difference is how the sensor reports the position to the PCM, whether by using an analog voltage divider circuit or by up to four or so signal lines that are either opened or closed based on the shift lever position.
Did you verify it's the correct switch for your transmission?

The trans is supposed to be from a '94 F350 with a 460 motor, but it has a 4R100 tail housing. I don't think that a 460 motor ever had a 4R100 trans. I have other issues with the shift position as well.
I use a Baumann Controller, so I can use either an Analog or Digital MLPS.
I don't know what the correct switch is for this trans. All I know is that the shaft doesn't rotate enough between Park & Neutral.
