front brakes
Determining if stepping up to Powerstop rotors and pads would be worth it vs just a standard Advance Auto part setup.
Yes I do some towing - camper is around 6500 pounds.
Thoughts?
Some folks say cheap rotors don't warp any more than pricey ones, but I would at least try to get American made ones although this is gonna be hard. What does Rock Auto have?
As for brake pads, we have put Wagner Thermoquiet pads on a couple of our cars (and they were fairly cheap with rebates a I recall) and they have worked great and are lasting a LONG time (ceramic version). I am thinking they are superior to factory pads at maybe not an ultra high price.

I recently found new take off rotor/hub/bearings/seals and studs from '08 E-Series, the E250 and E350 being the same from '08 forward----$165 shipped to my door no less, an eBay find. That's less than half what I found just for the rotors anywhere, even locally without shipping costs. Still available here, double and triple check compatibility: 2 Front Disc Brake Rotor and Hub Assembly Original Ford OE Fits E Series | eBay
These as OEM seem like well made parts, Canadian-produced if I hear correctly. The upside to my purchase is they're complete units, ready to put into place and renewing the front bearings at the same time.
Pads I've been using the Motorcraft stock types, about $77 for the set from either a dealer or aftermarket outlet. I don't tow anything but run at about 7,800# as a daily driver. I've had nothing but good experience with Motorcraft, they've lasted about 50K miles so far
On the extreme end is the Carbo Tech brand which run almost $300 (shipped, core charge included) however one of our van forum user claims these are without a doubt the absolute best to be found anywhere. Very, very gentle on the rotors, last forever. I'll try locating his link where he details his experience with this brand, will update this post or add the link later.
Hope this is even slightly helpful Cherokee!
