Steering Box/Gear Replacement?

Steering Box/Gear Replacement?
Looking for anyone's personal, hands-on experience with replacing the steering gear: '03 E250, front axle under 4200#. Not concerned so much with the process as this will most likely be hired out----needing info on the NAPA/Cardon brand vs OEM. Redhead is is pretty much out of the running since their shipping costs add too much to the final cost.
NAPA is about $160, Ford OEM just at $229, Redhead over $400.
