Is there a difference between the 1970 and 1973 styleside beds?
I had a quick question...tried looking but didn't really see any threads (if there are please point me in the right direction). I was looking at the NPD and was wondering...Is there a difference between the 1970 styleside and the 1973 styleside when it comes to the bed or hood? could the panel be used to refurbish my 1970s bed? I have been looking all over the web for replacement parts for the bed and hood and have not been able to find anything...does anyone have any ideas??

What parts are you looking for?

Parts catalog 'Styleside' pics. Left: 1967/72 / Right: 1973/79, but 1973/76's have exposed fuel caps, while 1977/79's have fuel doors.
Notice raised scallop line (called Bumpsides by enthusiasts) on 1967/72's. 1973/79's have a concave scallop line, so enthusiasts call 'em Dentsides.
1967/72 hood same (1967 hood side emblems are 1967 only, 1968/72 same), but 1973/79 (and 1978/79 Bronco) hood is different.
Tool compartment was an option on 1967/72's and 1973/79's (not shown), but the parts do not interchange.
1973/79 F350's on the 140" wheelbase use specific 8' beds, as the rear axle is set back further. Spare tire located behind a door on the right quarter panel (bedside) in front of rear wheel.
Parts catalog pics: 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog & 1973/79 Ford LIGHT Truck Parts Catalog available on CD's from hipoparts.com. Pics are from the CD's.

I have Carpenters catalogs, so know what he offers.
Either download or call dennis-carpenter.com (800-476-9653-located north of Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord) and ask for his free 1967/79 repro truck parts catalog.
All the parts are illustrated and Carpenter uses Ford part numbers for them.
If you have the 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog, you can verify that the parts are correct for your application. And, since every part is illustrated, catalog can also be used as an assembly/dis-assembly manual.
And if you go to Carpenters store (not that far from jaw-jah), take plenty a money, cuz you'll need it. I know, cuz I was there in 2004, planned to spend 50 bucks, spent 3,000 bucks.
Just read your profile, THANK YOU for your service!

Where did they refer you to, I need to replace several parts and I am trying to find them online but can't really find anything for a 1970...The NPD has several for a 1973 which is why I asked if maybe some of those parts could just be cut to fit the 1970

There is no replacement for the tail light section that I could find.I bought a 61-66 part and cut and used pieces parts from it.Bed sides I got from Auto body specialties-888-277-1960.They sell a front and rear side then you got to weld them together. Most suppiers probably sell the same ones theres a sticker on them Schott panal there in Akron Ohio. There is a place that makes complete long bed sides called Sherman.I don't know what to think they show there panal going all the way to the top including the stake pockets which would be good to get rid of bed side seem if its pictured right.
