Hey everyone... I need to put my 1965 F100 longbed on a trailer and get it away from where it is. Right now, I do not have access to it to measure the wheelbase length & width. This is a divorce situation where I will be allowed to to get it very soon & since I do not trust that my ex did not sweeten the gas tank or anything else destructive so I do not want to start it.
Does anyone either know the wheelbase length/width or if you have one can you run a tape measure real quick? I need to make sure I take the right trailer with me. Thanks!
My '66 LWB Styleside is 6 feet, 6 inches wide, not counting the door mirrors sticking out. To get the whole truck completely on a flatbed trailer would take an 18 foot trailer. A 16 foot trailer would take it but the truck would be sticking out over the back a bit. I'll attach a picture of mine on a 16 foot trailer. While Grubbworm has a good idea, I just talked to U-Haul about a car transporter to carry a '63 Galaxie and they said all of theirs are too small; they only cater to modern car sizes so I doubt U-Haul has anything that will work. Didn't try anybody else. Hope this helps!
Overall length will depend on which type of rear bumper (if any) is installed. All rear bumpers were optional thru 1979, Styleside factory step bumper wasn't available until 1967.
These trucks could have myriad different types of aftermarket step bumpers, including Flaresides that FoMoCo didn't offer a factory step bumper for...until 1973.
