I have a 2004 F250 with a 6.0 diesel in it. Recently it posted a po 263 code. What does this mean? What actions should I be taking? Is this serious? Thanks to all for the advice.
P0263 is cylinder #1 contribution balance and usually requires a new injector. Have you noticed it idling rough? Have you tried clearing the code and see if it returns?
I have not noticed rough idling. I only found the code because I was having a code cleared from a blown off pipe from the intercooler. So, I will give it some time and see if it comes back.
It can also be set by base engine problems as well, like compression loss. But it could have been an old code so if he doesn't notice any drivability issues perhaps the code wont return.
I am getting code P0263 after replacing the head gaskets and have a loud noise coming back through the intake as well. I was thinking a problem with the intake valve?
