Gauge Options

I've been looking at putting a set of gauges in my truck and I've got a couple of questions. First off do the ISSPro EV2 gauges from riffraff come with enough wiring to put them overhead above the mirror or do I need to order them specially to get enough?

Secondly, does anyone have a custom overhead console? My truck does not have the factory overhead console and I would like to have a console that I could mount all my gauges in, as well as some switches for accessories. If anyone has any pictures that would be great.

Thanks, Baatzy

I cant tell you if its enough to do a mirror mount or not seeing as mine are pillar mounted. But I will tell you that on my pillar mount and the way I ran my wires, I still cut off 1-2 ft of wire depending on which sensor it was.

Yes, there is just enough to mount above the mirror, the only one you might have to lengthen is the trans temp.

The OEM overhead console does not have anywhere to mount the gages to. Depending on which one you have (or want), it has the computer (miles-to-empty, compass and overall mpg) and up to two pockets (one for sunglasses and one generic one you can velcro your garage door opener in). The overhead gage pod actually tucks under the headliner on top and taped (double-sided padded tape) to the windshield. I bought an overhead triple gage setup from Clay (RiffRaff) over a year ago and still have not put them in yet . I am willing to put in a little extra work to keep my grab handle on the pillar (it's very convenient for us old guys).

There are a couple of companies that make aftermarket pods (mine is from Autometer I think), but I don't know of anybody that sells or has modified an OEM overhead console for gages.

Whatever you decide to go with, I would definitely check out RiffRaff first. Clay usually has the best prices and his customer service is second to none!

Thanks, I've been looking at gauges from Clay for awhile. How do you lengthen the sensors? Is it just a simple wire?

Also I'm pretty short so my seat is pretty close to the steering wheel, which is one reason I don't want a pillar pod setup, it would just be too close to me. I also don't want to mount them low as I have a 6 speed and I can see the stick being in the way of seeing them. I would like to see all my gauges mounted up high so I was wondering if anyone has an overhead console for their gauges.

Thanks for all the answers guys.

Yea just adding wire. Very simple, and great instructions come with them. He provides everything needed for installation all the way down to the bit to tap the manifold.

Sweet, sounds very easy. I think I will just order the over mirror pod for now, I need to do some very creative thinking on how I want to design my over head console.

Is there a package I can order for the overhead setup or do I have to order each individually? If I order individually does it still come with all the necessary parts?

Thanks for the input!

Just want to make one note. If you go with another brand of gauges (Autometer, VDO etc) than the ISSPro EV2's you mentioned in your first post, you cannot lengthen or shorten the Pyrometer wire lengths. This only applies to the pyrometer gauge.
