The seller is on drugs and doesn't really want to sell his rig, but on the off-chance he finds some fool with more money than brains, who doesn't know enough about these rigs that will be sucker enough to pay what he's asking, he'll sell it to him. Stewart
I think he wants to sell the Excursion.... but he set a price for the Excursion, then he added in all the modifications he has done to it. He wants all of his money back, and it's not going to happen in this lifetime no matter how long he advertises it for sale.
This is what I keep telling people about Excursions.... spend a few more dollars up front, get a low mileage Excursion (diesel or V10), and you're money ahead. After you pay $12,000 for a high mileage Excursion, you can't simply junk it, you have to keep making repairs month after month. You've got $20,000 in an Excursion now.... you will never get your money back on it. And something on it will keep breaking even after this now $20,000 investment. You're way too much into it now to even think about junking it and sucking it up as a bad investment.
I agree. I should have done this. I am going to keep putting money into mine now though and get it in near perfect shape, just because I have already went this far. Motor is coming out soon, and lots of aftermarket fun to be bolted on
I almost had a heart attack when I saw $20k for a '00 X. Actually I closed the window and re-opened the thread to make sure my browser wasn't playing tricks on me..
Vehicles are worth what someone is willing to pay. End of story. If the "market" price is supported via comps, then that's the price. Basic economics 101, supply and demand. If you think it's too much then you don't buy... very simple.
Plenty of buyers willing to pay big bucks for Excursions... it's not always a objective decision. Always remember and never forget, vehicle purchases are not investments, you will lose money.
Haven't read all the posts but the condition your truck is in its worth maybe 6k MAX probably 5k lol.
Stick with urs and do ur audio build and 42s. Will be fun as hell for a weekend/evening cruiser.
Plus I'd stay away from 2000 models but thats just me. Little things like the retarded cup holders that are only deep enough for a toddlers sippy cup bothers me. Lol.
Thanks for the input all. Sometimes it just takes a few people telling someone the're stupid to finally make since of the situation lol
Ur stoopid.
Hahahah
Seriously tho keep your v10. You already have a good base to work on. I can say that unless I'm starving ill never get rid of mine. Its paid for and with 154k and only driven maybe 4000 miles a year, it'll last a while before having to put money into it
Way over priced. He's trying to recover all the extra's. just a quick search on cars.com here in NJ I just found a 2001 Limited 7.3 with 87,000 miles for $15,995 at a dealer. That seems to be the average price for the 7.3's around here
