Hi everyone this is my first post I just got my 1999 ford f250 superduty 7.3L long bed ext cab I am curious what beds will be a direct fit onto my truck?? Going to the junk yard and would like to know before I get my hopes up. Does the donor truck have to be a super duty? or just a long bed from certain years? How about F150 beds?
Don't know about the other Ford beds, but ALL Super Duty long beds will fit. The only issue will be that the later models have different wheel arches which will look odd on a '99. I'm sure someone will chime in here shortly to let you know what year the wheel arches changed since I can't remember.
So any f250 f350 bed will fit from 99 to 2010? sorry I am new to all this are there f250's and 350s that are not super duties? So that is a no go on the f150 beds fitting?
Not only are the frames different, but the shape and size of bed is different as well. Now to confuse things a little, F150 tailgates from '97-03 will fit directly on to superduty trucks up to 07. From 97-99 there was an F250 in the F150 body style that is not a superduty. More confusion.
Alright... so as long as the truck looks like mine there is nothing else I need to worry about superduty bed will fit.. thanks everyone. hope this is right I don't want to get home a useless bed that wont bolt up to my truck !!! thanks everyone...

not quite. any F-250 or F-350 SUPERDUTY bed.
there was a F-250 light duty that was a glorified F-150 from 97 to 2004.
if you go in asking for a 250 or 250 bed from 99 to 2010 they may just try giving you a 250 LD bed, and it willnot work or fit.
I currently have a 2011 super duty crew cab 8 foot bed diesel and I’m looking to do a repair however I come across a 2015 super duty 8 foot bed diesel which is very affordable. My question is has anybody attempted to put a 2015 super duty bed on a 2011 and what obstacles if any do you run into?
