Bolts on, body lines don't match up, and the wheel wells are visually obvious that they're different. No one will be fooled that its mismatched and *******ized.

I have a 1999 f350 7.3 power stroke 2wd dually crew cab that I bought that had a wooden flatbed on it and I bought a new 8' take aluminum take off bed 2017 or newer but it is way to different to fit let alone bolt up and it is also 11" to one foot (12") short. Were the older beds actually 9'? Can I even get a bed to fit or does it have to be some type of utility/flat bed? Thanks

Is your truck a pickup or a chassis/cab truck?
Also, the 2017+ beds will not bolt directly to a 1999-2016 pickup frame. It can be made to work, but a GMC bed could also be made to work.
Ya if you use 10% factory bed and 90% fab but then what use it to spend the price for a full bed and only use 10%........I have been doing some digging and from what I have found my vin number W36 refers to crew cab standard bed and not cab and chassis, so that means I should be able to bolt up a 1999-2016 bed...I heard that somewhere along the line the wheel wells do not line up perfectly but will work. Now the hard part trying to find a suitable bed that is not rusty. I do have an additional question though. Does anyone know if the tailgate from a 2017 and newer bed will fit the older beds?
As it turns out my truck is not a dually its a cab and chassis. 34" straight outside frame rails, 60" cab to rear axle, rear center fuel tank and 9' long. Found this all out when I went to get a truck bed...turns out I though I bought a fully skirted cab and chassis flatbed. Fits perfect.....Live and learn.
