Wow, really nice looking. I'll have to look up "sikkens". I tried three coats of marine epoxy and that just didn't hold up for me. that's in less than a year.
Thats one fine looking truck bed you've got there.
thanks guys ,, i have 5 coats of sikkens i sanded with 220 on my orbital sander in between coats .. what i did was screw it down under the SS strips so you wouldn't see the SS screws , i am very happy i have carpet on the way ,, getting there piece by piece
thanks
Lilrobo,
I'm starting to hatch a cunning plan....
This ad for a walnut tree just got posted in my town. How about if I can go and cut down the tree...we can cut it up, mill it down into a bunch of truck-sized boards....and you can work your craft into those pieces of art and about 30 members will have some nice beds as a result? Black Walnut Tree Wood
I laughed as I did a search on Craigslist for walnut and saw this. I still need to get some boards for my truck project. the pieces are falling into place huh?
now there is a difference in walnut , we had some go down here also along with cherry and its not the same that you buy at lumber store dont ask me ,, i just know its different
My Dad made a gun stock out of birds eye maple for my brothers 257 Roberts , a stock for my 30.06 out of curly maple and in '80 I made a stock for my 257 out of English walnut . I only made one gun stock & that is where it will stand . Way too much time . One & done .
