I used 3 of the harbor freight stripping wheels for my grinder and brass wire brushes to get in all the nooks and crannys.
Not the sandpaper flapper wheels . They were designed for stripping paint and about 4 bucks a piece cheaper than Home Depot. Still have to do drivers side. Now just need to pull motor and trans to do engine compartment. 223 and 3 speed anybody?
Thanks Bill.. Actually went a little quicker than I thought.

Cool, i use those fiber wheels myself... the better ones last a little bit longer but not as long as 2 of the wheels from HF. what paint products are you going to use?

Bill, I sold the motor and trans. Not sure about the paint products yet. Open for suggestions . Haven't bought primer or anything so let me know what you have had luck with. I used House of Kolor on one of the last projects. Had good luck with their shimrin bases and brandy wine over gold base . Thinking of a tangerine color this time around with pearl.

I have a 56 too, with the same rust holes in the roof panel just above the drip rail. Have you decided on how you are going to repair it?
I just finished the frame and moved the rotisserie to the cab. So ready to start, but doing some research before I start.

Hey Efranzen, welcome ! Good to find someone else with the same truck nearby. I am in Mesa . Not lucky enough to have a rotisserie to put mine on. I will be cutting out the rust and replacing. That will come soon. I am working on the ifs for the front( Lexus) and the irs in the bAck (t bird). I wanted to get the chassis brackets welded first so I can get the frame out for blasting and powder coating.

Was actually hoping for a mark8 rear since they had aluminum lower control arms and diff. But I got such a great deal on this one, so I didn't think it would be that big of deal. Still looking for a trans though. (C-4) or AOD.

I have a C4 that I rebuilt for a 68 302 Mustang. I never put it in and have since sold the Mustang, so here it sits.
I'm going with 351W/AOD for my truck, so no plans for the C4.

Well it's been a while but I have a couple pics from the t bird irs I am putting in my 56.
Didn't like the team 321 brackets , or at least how the front mounts hung way down below the frame, so I altered the irs frame and made new mounts tucked up next to the frame. I think it looks a lot cleaner. Pics are in garage or album ..
