For some time now I haven't had the regen problem where my truck stumbles, clatters and farts at the start of a regen. But yesterday we went back to the old habit. Cruising at around 65 it got so bad I had to manually downshift to 5th to keep it going. I had hoped there would be a TSB on this problem by now. This is the "only" thing I don't like about this truck.
6032 - 2011-2013 F-Super Duty - 6.7L Diesel Engine - Runs Rough/Misfire During Exhaust Regeneration Process
See TSB: 13-05-09 for details. 13-05-09
Some 2011-2013 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine may exhibit a runs rough/misfire condition only during the exhaust regeneration process. This condition typically occurs on light throttle tip in between 64-113 Km/h (40-70 MPH), and will not set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). The concern may be intermittent and a knocking noise may be present during the concern.
ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

Thanks, I checked into it and it sounds like my problem also. Very disheartening to have to have a new expensive engine opened up.
Also, TSB 13-05-17 replaces 13-05-09, looks like a few more parts on the replacement parts list.
I don't see anywhere that this problem could cause other problems, like a nuclear meltdown.
Now I have to decide if I want to ride it out until my next trade or have my truck butchered by savages.
Geeze, it was built by a Ford Employee, let Ford fix it. Your not dealing with the human body here, its nuts and bolts not blood and brain.
Sorry if I come across in a crude manner on this, but it is what it is. A man make error in design or application that can be fixed and corrected. Nothing more, nothing less.
Does it suck, yep you bet!!! Could there be worse things to happen in life, you bet!!!
Now go put that puppy in the shop and drive in peace with a forgiving heart....towards me and Ford.
Its much better than having this problem occur outside of warranty (you have seen the pictures of the engines that have dumped exhaust valves, right?)
I haven't seen those pictures, but it doesn't sound good. I guess I'm not understanding why a recall hasn't been issued if they are finally aware that there is a problem. I did take my truck in to the dealer early on, explaining in detail what it was doing. But they said they couldn't find anything. They said since it wasn't throwing any codes, just drive it and bring it back if it did it again. Grant it, I didn't notice it happening for a while until this weekend when I noticed it go into regen on the highway and sure enough it was pronounced. Anyway, I printed the new TSB 13-05-17 to take with me although I know they have it too but at least I can say this is exactly what my truck is doing. If they don't want to do anything about it I guess I can try a different dealer.

Hi Lastwagen,
I'd like to jump in here and do what I can to help as well. Shoot a PM my way with your details (VIN, dealer, mileage, daytime phone number, and full name) and I'll see how I can best assist.
