Okay,
I have an "88"F250 4x4 v8 auto.
We need to have the manifolds replaced.
I need help trying to figure out why, removing the manifolds and the rear muffler system, and replacing them with headers and glasspacks is cheaper? And second is it a better option than just replacing the old manifolds with new ones.

Headers and duals can be cheaper and also provide you with more power than stock. Don't know about you but where I live the Ford Dealership wants over $200 for a manifold. You can get great headers for under $200 and dual pipes for $100 out of jegs. just find some high flow mufflers if you don't deal with emmisions and you'll do alot better than buying manifolds.
