Door Glass question
Door Glass question
Has anyone had any experience with converting your door glass to the one piece glass and doing away with the wings? Thinking about making the change and wanted some advice. Thanks
Hi,
several on here have done it... it used to take some door mods and body work but Mid 50 F-100 now sells a kit to convert to one glass doors... Mine is sitting on a shelf in the shop waiting on me... not a major mod... you can get instructions from them direct or on their website I think...

To each his own. I love the "Wing Window".
It's one of the main reasons I drive older rigs
Cuz new rigs did away with them.
They are my air conditioning and ash tray.
There are many reasons to have them in these old trucks
and no reason I can think of to delete them.
Other than because (everyone else did it).
Can ya tell us why you don't like it and want to change it?
I really would like to know. Seriously.

I was driving the '57 to a car show at about 60 mph on the highway and took a Japanese beetle right in the face. The vent window worked great to aim the bug with laser precision right at my schnozz. But I love those windows on rides without A/C. There are more pros than cons to keeping them.
Just my 2 cents.

Don't get me wrong, I do like wing windows. I have no hardware to put them back in my doors and also like the look of the open 1 piece. I have been driving around without any glass or channels and just thought it looked neat. If I could find the new hardware relatively inexpensive I would consider putting the original style glass back in since I have brand new glass just no hardware.
