I'm looking to purchase a 95 Ranger for a daily driver. The Camaro just ain't cutting it with the cost of gas, and plus, I'm constanting modding it, so I need something to drive.
I'm looking at a 1995 2.3L 5 speed Ranger. It's very low mileage and at a great price from it's original owner. It is not equipped with AC. I found www.ackits.com but think I could probably scrounge the stuff cheaper used.
Could anyone provide me with a parts list that I need to check off so I can gather an idea of what this will cost? I'll do the work myself and with friends, so labor isn't much of a factor.
Thanks man. Yea, I agree with you...but I'd mainly be looking at getting this done ASAP. With the new rear end in the Camaro, the couple grand for the truck, and tax/tag...I'll be hard-pressed for $700 on an AC kit.
Do I basically need just the compressor, condensor, evaporator...I heard something about a new fan shroud? What else?
I'm not sure about the shroud but you will also need the climate control switches, drier, maybe plenum. If you find a junker with the system still sealed you might be able to grab everything and make it work.
Thanks man. I'll do a little research on it. I've got some hook ups when it comes to parts, mainly used...but especially new GM parts. I need to find me a Blue Oval Parts buddy now, I guess. LOL.
Thanks man...this will help me get started, but if you happen to think of something...feel free to post it or email me.
