ecm reflash
Good evening,
I have a 2006 f150 with the 5.4 crew cab. I just bought it and I was having my local shop look things over.
The tech told me that I should go to the dealer and have my ecm reflashed to the newest version of software. Has anyone heard this before and has anyone had it done?

Dealerships will routinely flash a vehicles PCM to the latest tune whenever a vehicle comes in for service. They neither need your permission, nor do they usually let you know.
Many of my friends have had their vehicles reflashed without their permission, creating havoc with custom tunes that had been flashed onto the PCM.
