Was the truck wrecked? I have never seen a wheel just crack before.
That would be my question also. I've seen/replaced a LOT of wheels in the body business and seen a lot of wheels remanufactured but never seen any just crack like that.
I called my neighbor.... 100000 miles on the wheels, just been rotated a while back but don't know the rotation pattern, pulls a large camper but no hard use, the truck has a camper shell so no overly loaded bed loads, the rims both split in the same area relative to the valve stem so that indicates a flaw in mfg finally showing up. Not hit any curbs that he remembers and the chance of hitting a curb on the same area of two wheels is not very high. Guess time will tell if it is just a bad lot. Dealer not willing to replace the wheels of course.
Do you have a FULL picture of the rims to post, so that we can see the pattern of the particular wheels in question?
I will have to go see my neighbor and take some more pictures, I want to get one of the other wheel anyway.... my neighbor lives 6 miles away so it may be a day or so before I go by his house and catch him at home. It was easier to say "neighbor' than say "the farmer that cuts the hay on my land".

i have alcoa rims on my van, and had one of those crack across the
spoke, on the right rear rim, which is obviously the power application
wheel. but right out on the edge of the flange? looks like a tire mounting
machine would be the only thing to apply that kind of force in that
area. if someone did a number putting tires on, that might explain
why two of them on the same truck failed the same way.
especially since they failed at the same position. guys mounting tires
usually start at the same position relative to the stem, so if someone
tweaked them with the machine, it'd probably be in the same relative
spot.
