Both my 86's and my 87 had plastic liners and no rust on the bed floor. These are northeast trucks...

I am thinking about alcoa or moto metal wheels but Im not sure.

What do you guys think would look good on my truck as far as wheels? I'm open to suggestions!

I made a KILLER score yesterday! I scored this tailgate on craigslist for $40. It even came from a brick nose! I also painted my toolbox black as you can see. No more white showing through!

I went to 5 junk yards yesterday.

Got an ashtray for $10

When someone hacked out the old ashtray, they whacked off the original plug wires and wired up another plug. So I wired up an original.

Can somebody tell me what this tab is with the two holes is for? Its on the driver side inner fender by the firewall.

I have always liked pro comp 6031s or the wheels like on my 88 F150 on these bricknoses. Or my favorite on crew cabs white spokes.

I tend to prefer chrome or aluminum wheels. I think they look better with these trucks.

The 6001 is my favorite so far, but I love the 6031. I see only one solution, buy both, and switch them once a month. I haven't even scratched the surface of the amount of wheels out there for this truck. Help is appreciated!

I think they're both good choices.

I will have to wait until I get some better tires before I get the wheels. They're not leaving my to do list though. Still want them. I'm currently working on getting a new exhaust manifold and a ranch hand bumper for the back.

The work is looking good, Tye. The old Red Ruffian ain't lookin' quite so rough.
That free black paint and drop-in bed liner were a pretty good score.
If your toolbox starts getting knocked around too much, some DIY roll-on bed liner might go good on that, too. For now, that free black paint is looking mighty good.
I hope you're having fun with it. Keep on keepin' on.

Thanks for the complements! That's a great idea about bed lining the toolbox. I might use that when I get my truck a little more road worthy.

I am still working on getting it titled. The truck has to pass inspection before it can be transferred to our name,so I am trying to fix the exhaust leaks. I need to replace the passenger side exhaust manifold gasket and the entire driver side manifold because I broke off the bolt that is cast into the collar. The passenger side one is missing one bolt, so I need to find another.

I got to looking at replacements on all the parts websites, craigslist, and ebay. The cheapest I found was $100for a used one with no return policy! Then I started looking at headers. I can get a set from summit that can lower my EGT, provide all new hardware, give me a new y-pipe, and includes a 5 year warranty with free shipping for $280.
