Timing

Hey all! Just swapped out the motor in my truck! Still a 300 but completely rebuilt and new to me! Found a local guy that had all the stuff to do the duras park setup. Got the Clifford intake and weber carb setup on it with Clifford headers and all! Anyways I got it running and ran it to break in the cam but I think timing is off or something? Run decent at lower RPM but jolts and ways to cut off at higher RPMs. Where should my timing be roughly before vacuum advance is hooked up is my question? Been searching for hours now and I have either missed it or just can't find the info!
Truck looks really sporty with the new setup in it now too! I really need to save some cash for new exhaust now though! Neighbors will be getting upset if I crank it too much right now, sounds good to me though

Roughly 10 degrees BTDC should be a good starting point. Hook the vacuum advance to a spot on the carb that only has vacuum when the throttle is opened up as a initial place to start tuning.
